ESTABLISHING TOWN OF LEESBURG'S MEMBERSHIP IN THE
COALITION OF HIGH GRO WTt t LO~-" - M MUN[' '~1 lES'"
WHEREAS, in 1998 a group of fast growing communities which included Loudoun
County banded together and the (Coalition of High Growth Communities) Coalition was ~%rmcd;
and
WHEREAS, currently the Coalition has 27 members which include cities and counties
t!'Lroughout the state that are experiencing rapid growth and fiscal stress related to this high.
g:~owth rate; and
WHEREAS, the Coalition meets monthly .~md d~velops legislative initiatives and
programs to be presented to the General Assembly; and
WHEREAS, the cost to the town for membership shall not exceed $1,500.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED that the Town Council hereby petitions the Coalition of
High Growth Communities for membership.
