Annie Carlson Named Information Technology Manager for
the Town of Leesburg
Leesburg, VA (July 3, 2012) – Leesburg Town Manager
John Wells announced today that Annie Carlson has
been named Information Technology Manager for the
Town.
In her new role, Ms. Carlson will supervise day-to-day
operations of the Town’s Information Technology
Department. In addition, she will be responsible for
implementing the information technology-related
projects in the current budget and for developing a long-
term strategic plan for the Town’s information
technology needs. Currently, Brian Chavis, president &
CEO of AR Group, is overseeing the Town’s information
technology operations, on a contract basis. Mr. Chavis will continue to provide information
technology advisory and consulting services to the Town.
Ms. Carlson is currently a Senior Management and Systems Analyst with Town’s Finance
Department, a position she has held since 2004. She first joined the Town of Leesburg in 1998.
Ms. Carlson holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Columbia University’s Barnard College and a
Master’s Degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. Prior to joining
the Town of Leesburg, Ms. Carlson was IT Manager for Amnesty International US Section where
her duties included managing the migration from a mini to a PC-based network for AI’s London-
based headquarters.
