A RESOLUTION: PRESENTED: Eehnmry.2~ 2005-29 ADOPTED: February 8, 2005 AUTHORIZING A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING FOR SPECIAL EXCEPTION APPLICATION TLSE-2005-0001 LOUDOUN COUNTY TEMPORARY COMMUTER PARKING LOT WHEREAS, it is the intent and desire of Council to be supportive of providing alternative transit oppommities to the citizens of Leesburg; and WHEREAS, the Loudoun County Office of Transportation Services desires to locate a commuter parking lot at the former Barber and Ross site at 110 Catoctin Circle SE on a temporary basis; and WHEREAS, the proposed temporary commuter parking lot will benefit the public through providing continued park and ride service in Leesburg while Loudoun County Office of Transportation Services constructs a permanent facility at another location; and WHEREAS, the term temporary commuter parking lot is defined under Section 18.1.175.1 of the Town Zoning Ordinance and the use is permitted for no longer than two (2) years and shall not be renewable. ' WHEREAS, the public necessity, convenience, general welfare and good zoning practice justify the authorization of a joint public hearing in this case. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: Pursuant to Chapter 22, Title 15.2-2204 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended, a notice that a special exception application to locate a temporary commuter parking lot at the former Barber and Ross site, 110 Catoctin Circle SE, will be considered jointly by the Leesburg Town Council and the Leesburg Planning Commission and shall be published in the Leesburg -2- AUTHORIZING A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING FOR TLSE-2005-0001 LOUDOUN COUNTY TEMPORARY COMMUTER PARKING LOT Today on April 1, 2005 and April 8, 2005 for a Joint Public Hearing to be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 in the Council Chambers of the Leesburg Government Center at 25 West Market Street, Leesburg, Virginia, 20176.
