Plans Unchanged
Festivities will begin with downtown parade at 10am and continue at 6pm with
two concerts and fireworks show at Ida Lee Park
Leesburg, VA (July 3, 2012) –
Celebrate the 4th of July in
style at the Town of Leesburg’s
22nd annual Independence Day
Celebration on Wednesday,
July 4, 2012.
At 10am, the Independence
Day Parade will start at Ida Lee
Park, travel down King Street
and conclude at Fairfax Street.
King Street will close to
through-traffic at 9:30am in
preparation for the parade.
Downtown streets will re-open at approximately 11:30am.
Gates will open at 6pm at Ida Lee Park for the “Celebration in the Park.” The evening will start
off with the Rob Byer Band, a mix of modern country sounds, and continue with Faded Image,
a rockin’ band from the Baltimore area that plays a mix of tunes from 80’s to country to classic
rock. Following the two concerts, at approximately 9:30pm, the largest fireworks show in the
region will light up the sky. Choreographed to patriotic music, this light show is not to be
missed.
Parking will be available at the interior lots off Ida Lee Drive, and the festival field parking off
King Street. The Town of Leesburg staff will work hard to insure that as many vehicles as
possible are parked in the park, so attendees are asked to be patient while waiting to enter and
exit. The Town also reminds our guests to use designated cross walks.
