HomeMy Public PortalAbout2005_03_22_r057The Town of Leesburg, Virginia PRESENTED March 22, 2005 RESOLUTION NO. ~ ADOPTED March 22, 2005 A RESOLUTION: APPROVING AMENDMENTS TO THE FY 2005 POLICE BUDGET, AND MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR $71,660 AWARDED THROUGH A LAW ENFORCEMENT TERRORISM PREVENTION GRANT WHEREAS, the Department of Homeland Security under its Fiscal Year 2004 budget has awarded a grant to the Commonwealth of Virginia through the Department of Emergency Management; and WHEREAS, Loudoun County and the towns within Loudoun County share of the grant is $401,008; and WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg has been awarded $71,660 as its share of the Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Grant; and WHEREAS the Leesburg Police Department has worked closely with federal, state and Loudoun County officials to identify equipment needs necessary to improve the department's readiness. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: SECTION I. The FY 2005 Budget is hereby amended and an appropriation is made in the amount of $71,660 for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2004 and ending June 30, 2005, as follows to include the adjusted totals to the categories and accounts of the funds listed below: a. From the Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Program Grant $71,660 is received and appropriations of $71,660 are made to the Police Department FY05 budget for the A RESOLUTION: -2- APPROVING AMENDMENTS TO THE FY 2005 BUDGET RE: LAW ENFORCEMENT GRANT purchase of equipment necessary to improve the department's readiness as determined by a Readiness Evaluation conducted with local, state and federal officials. b. The equipment purchases that we submitted for in the application are as follows: 1. Prime Mover Vehicle (Pick up truck) designed to move traffic control devices and response equipment 2. Updated Mobile computers 3. Updated Personal Protection Masks 4. Portable Radio Battery Conditioner 5. Radio Interconnect System 6. Portable Generator 7. Equipment trailer for storing transporting critical response gear. SECTION II. accounts within the police department. PASSED this 22nd day of March 2005.
