ENCOURAGING THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
TO ENHANCE CLEAN-UP EFFORTS ON ROUTES 7, 15, THE ROUTE 15
BYPASS, AND FT. EVANS ROAD
WHEREAS, the town appreciates the Virginia Department of Transportation's continued support of
transportation improvements in Leesburg; and
WHEREAS, Leesburg is the crossroads of Routes 7 and 15, which lead directly to the town's
historic core; and
WHEREAS, Routes 7, 15, and the Route 7 Bypass serve as gateways to the town, reflecting
Leesburg's charm, historic character, and myriad of attractions and recreational opportunities that have
generated year-round tourism and bolstered the town's economy; and
WHEREAS, town crews have attempted to keep VDOT roadways clean given the town's higher-
standards for maintenance of these important roadways to support Leesburg's environment and quality of
life; and
WHEREAS, in conjunction with county-wide spring clean-up efforts through keep Loudoun
Beautiful, the town is initiating its own spring clean-up efforts, beginning in April 2005, through Keep
Loudoun Beautiful.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED that the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia hereby requests
the Virginia Department of Transportation to enhance clean-up efforts along Routes 7, 15, and the Route 7
Bypass, the state-controlled portion of Fort Evans Road, beginning immediately.
