AUTHORIZING A 20% DISCOUNT OFF GENERAL ADMISSION TO
IDA LEE PARK RECREATION CENTER TO ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY
PERSONNEL AND THEIR IMMEDIATE FAMILIES WHO ARE
RESIDENTS OF LOUDOUN COUNTY
WHEREAS, the Town Council and the citizens of the Town of Leesburg wish to show
support, pride, and appreciation to members of the United States Armed Forces; and
WHEREAS, one way to demonstrate appreciation of these active-duty men and women is
to provide discounted services; and
WHEREAS, discounted admission fees to active duty military personnel and their
immediate family members may in a small way show support and appreciation for their sacrifice;
and
WHEREAS, the Leesburg Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission and the Director of
the Leesburg Parks and Recreation Department endorse this resolution to offer a 20% discount off
general admission to Ida Lee Park Recreation Center to all active duty military personnel and their
immediate family members who are residents of Loudoun County.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the
following discount policy for use of Ida Lee Park Recreation Center applies to active-duty military
personnel and their immediate family who are residents of Loudoun County:
SECTION I. The 20% discount relates to general admission to the facility, but does not apply
to court fees for racquetball and fee-based classes.

SECTION II. The discount applies only to active-duty military personnel and their immediate
family members. Immediate family members are defined as spouse, son, daughter, or anyone who
may be living in the household who is claimed as a dependent on your federal income tax returns.
