ADOPTING AN ANNUAL BUDGET AND MAKING
APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING
JUNE 30, 2006
WHEREAS, the budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2006 has been presented
to and reviewed by the Town Council in accordance with Section 15.2-2503 of the 1950
Code of Virginia, as amended; and
WHEREAS, Council met in budget work sessions on March 29, April 5, and
April 9, 2005 to hear presentations by department directors, community agencies, and the
Town Manager; and
WHEREAS, duly advertised public hearings on the proposed budget and on the real
estate tax rate were held on April 12, 2005 to hear comments from interested residents.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. The annual budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2005 and
ending June 30, 2006, as proposed by the Town Manager and presented to and reviewed
by Council, is hereby adopted by reference.
SECTION II. There are hereby appropriated out of revenues estimated to be
available the following amounts:
a) General Fund $ 39,131,280
b) Utilities Fund $ 40,753,440
