RESOLUTION NO. 2005-74 ADOPTED April 26, 2005
A RESOLUTION: SETTING TAX RATES ON REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY IN THE
TOWN OF LEESBURG FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2005
WHEREAS, the budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2006, has been presented to and
reviewed by the Town Council in accordance with Section 58.1-3321 of the 1950 Code of Virginia,
as amended; and
WHEREAS, Council met in budget work sessions on March 29, April 5, April 9, and
April 19, 2005, to discuss the budget and hear presentations by department directors, community
agencies, and the Town Manager; and
WHEREAS, duly advertised public hearings on the proposed budget and on the real estate
tax rate were held on April 12, 2005 to hear comments from interested residents.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. The tax on real property for calendar year 2005 is set at a rate of $ 0.21 per
$100 of assessed value.
SECTION II. The tax on personal property for calendar year 2005 is set at a rate of $1.00
per $100 of assessed value.
