Maureen Schols Appreciation
WHEREAS, Maureen Schols joined the City of Bothell as an Accounting Technician on
September 24, 1990, when the city’s population was 12,345; and
WHEREAS, Maureen has honorably served the citizens of Bothell for 32 years during
which time the population has increased to 48,940; and
WHEREAS, Maureen worked her way up in the Finance Department serving in the
following positions: Accounting Technician, Accounting Specialist, Senior Accounting
Specialist, Financial Analyst/Budget & Internal Auditor, Interim Finance Manager,
Finance Manager, Deputy Finance Director, and two stints as Interim Finance Director ;
and
WHEREAS, Maureen is the personification of a team-player, doing what was necessary
to support the Finance Department, City organization, and community when called
upon; and
WHEREAS, Maureen postponed her planned retirement earlier this year in order to
serve as Interim Finance Director for a second time, helping to provide stability as the
City worked to find a new City Manager; and.
WHEREAS, Maureen’s shoe game is always on-point; and
WHEREAS, we celebrate Maureen’s invaluable contributions of service and friendship
and wish her all the best as she retires from the city and enjoys the next chapter of
her life.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mason Thompson, Mayor of the City of Bothell, do hereby
proclaim the City of Bothell’s appreciation to Maureen Schols for her many contributions
to the City of Bothell and our greater community.
