ENDORSING A TOWN-WIDE ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg is committed to the effective stewardship of the environment
and promoting its protection; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg Utilities Department is currently pursuing the development of
an Environmental Management System (EMS) for the Town Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF);
and
WHEREAS, the creation of an environmental policy is an important part of the development of
an Environmental Management System; and
WHEREAS, the attached Environmental Policy Statement has been reviewed by the town's
Management Team and endorsed by the town Environmental Advisory Commission.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia hereby endorses
the Environmental Policy Statement, as attached, as the official town-wide environmental policy, to be
signed by the Mayor, the Chair of the Environmental Advisory Commission, and the Town Manager.
