January 23, 2008

1. Minutes:
2. Cape Repertory Theatre Application:
Present for the Theatre: Board of Director Members-Rick Longley-Chair, Cape House Project Task Force, Maura
Hanlon-Associate Artistic Director, Sarah and Bob Tucker, Frank and Fran Weller.
Discussion of recommendation.
Revoted.
Motion "To recommend approval of $200,000 grant to Town Meeting with stipulation that Theatre would have to
show that they have obtained the rest of the funds that are needed."

3. Higgins Farm Windmill Application:
Short discussion.
Status of windmill repairs?
Per Roy Robinson- Paul Smith, who is in charge of windmill work, indicates that: oak fungus was found after they
got into the work. In high wind the arms of the windmill could fracture. It would be cheaper to repair now, than
later if it breaks.

Motion "To recommend approval of $10,000 to Town Meeting."

4. Brewster Housing Authority jBHA2 Application
The Housing Sub-Committee met with Jackie Corchesne, Director, BHA, and reported a favorable recommendation
on their application. The CPC voted to recommend adding the $50,000 request to its Town Meeting article.
Discussion of project.

checked my notes, and 1 do have that our CPC award was conditioned upon the other funds being raised. I'll call
Jackie tomorrow, but 1 believe the warrant article accurately describes our vote.
Motion - "To approve recommendation for $50,000 out of community housing funds, contingent on satisfactory
proof that they have obtained the rest of the funding needed to finish planning efforts

5. Citizen Comment:
Ellen St Sure, member of the Brewster Historic Commission, criticized a remark by the Chairman at a previous
meeting.
6. All Citizens Access Committee:
Jim Geisler discussed a possible application fora handicapped access project at Town beach. The Town bought a
beach wheelchair and now the All Access Committee needs to replace it. A wheelchair for the beach would cost
under $1,500.
All Citizen Access Committee Issues:
a. There is a problem with access to beaches. This is on the DPW list.
b. The Brewster Ladies Library has? automatic door openers.
c. Town Hall needs automatic door openers for the back entrance.
Other doors?
Consensus- "Recommend the ACAC meet with the Recreation Committee".
All were in agreement.
7. Community Housing:
The Sub-committee will be meeting with the BHA about land - 5.85 acres near senior housing complex, for the
development of rental housing.
Motion "To allocate up to $10,000 in administrative funds for initial study of prospects for creating such units.

8. Housing Action Plan
The draft Action Plan is being reviewed. Once the review is finished, the CPC will hold a second public forum.
9. Annual Report
Discussion of annual report and accounting for 30% funds.
The Committee will continue to work with Lisa Souve to clarify funding.
