APPROVING A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION OF $1,505,942 FOR THE
ACQUISITION OF 45-ACRES OF LAND ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE LEESBURG
EXECUTIVE AIRPORT
WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Virginia Department of Aviation (DOAV) have
awarded grants to the Town of Leesburg for purchasing 45-acres on the west side of the Leesburg Executive Airport; and
WHEREAS, the FAA will pay ninety-five percent (95%), DOAV three percent (3%), and the Airport Fund two
percent (2%), respectively, to fund the land purchase; and
WHEREAS, the purchase of the subject property was originally identified in previous Capital Improvements
Program Budgets; and
WHEREAS, appraisals and purchase agreements for the subject property have been executed; and
WHEREAS, the Airport Commission recommends the purchase of the subject property in order to install a
perimeter fence and house the impending ILS equipment vault.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
SECTION I. The FY 2006 Airport Budget is hereby amended and an appropriation is made in the amount of
$1,505,942 for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2005 and ending June 30, 2006, as follows: (1) the FAA will pay ninety-
five, (2) DOAV three percent, and (3) the Airport Fund two percent, respectively, to fund the land purchase.
SECTION II. The FY 2006-2010 Capital Improvements Program is amended to include the purchase of land
for the airport.
