ADOPTED September 27, 2005
A RESOLUTION:
AUTHORIZING THE DONATION OF TWO SURPLUS LEESBURG
POLICE VEHICLES TO THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI IN SUPPORT OF
RELIEF EFFORTS FOR THE VICTIMS OF HURRICANE KATRINA.
WHEREAS, the Town Council realizes the importance of assisting jurisdictions in the State of
Mississippi who suffered great loss in Hurricane Katrina, and
WHEREAS, the Leesburg Police Department currently has two police vehicles that have been
removed from service in the Town of Leesburg; and
WHEREAS, The Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police and the Virginia State Police are
organizing donations of surplus police vehicles to the State of Mississippi.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the
Town Manager is authorized and directed to transfer ownership by donation of two surplus
police vehicles identified as VIN numbers 1G1BL52P1TR141109 and 1G1BL52P4TR140438 to
the State of Mississippi.
