Ribbon cutting for new branch scheduled for Monday, August 6, 2012
Leesburg, VA (July 30, 2012) – At 4:00pm, on Monday, August 6, 2012, Town of Leesburg
officials will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand opening of Loudoun Credit Union’s
new location at 801 Sycolin Road SE. Leesburg Mayor Kristen C. Umstattd will officiate.
Loudoun Credit Union (LCU) is state chartered and federally insured with assets exceeding $29
million. LCU has more than 6,900 members and serves Loudoun County Government, Loudoun
County Public Schools, Loudoun Water, Inova Loudoun Hospital and the employees of the
towns within Loudoun County.
The new branch has additional staff office and work space and an enhanced new member
services area, as well as free Wi-Fi in the lobby and a walkup ATM. This ATM, as well as ATMs
to be placed at the Leesburg Executive Airport and the Loudoun County Administration
Building, will connect LCU to the CO-OP network, providing members with over 28,000
convenient, surcharge-free ATMs across the United States and Canada.
The opening of the new branch coincides with the credit union’s 35th anniversary. As part of
the celebration, LCU will provide three $3,500 grants to not-for-profit groups serving Loudoun
County residents. The deadline for submitting requests to the selection committee is Thursday,
September 20th.
As part of their grand opening celebration, the Loudoun Credit Union will host a day-long open
house featuring refreshments and gift card drawings.
"This relocation and space enhancements help reiterate LCU’s commitment to continue
providing our members with an exceptional service experience coupled with the best possible
financial programs at the lowest cost,” said LCU Board Chairman Cindy Mester. “The LCU Board
is extremely grateful for the Town's continued support of our business presence as well as the
County as our landlords for this new space."
