A RESOLUTION:
PRESENTED September 27, 2005
ADOPTED September 27, 2005
ACKNOWLEDGING THE GENEROSITY OF TOWN RESIDENTS
AND BUSINESSES FOR THEIR CONRIBUTIONS OF CASH AND
SERVICES TO ASSIST VICTIMS OF HURRICANE KATRINA; THE
WORK OF OFFICER ROBERT WELCH IN COLLECTING THESE
CONTRIBUTIONS; ACCEPTING CASH CONTRIBUTIONS
TOTALING $7,459 AND APPROPRIATING THOSE FUNDS FOR
DISTRIBUTION TO HURRICANE KATRINA VICTIMS.
WHEREAS, the residents and businesses in the Town of Leesburg have generously
assisted victims of Hurricane Katrina and have made cash contributions in the amount of $7,459;
and
WHEREAS, Officer Robert Welch has given his time and attention to collecting and
securing these cash contributions.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
The Council extends its thanks and appreciation to the residents and businesses who
participated in this effort and to Officer Robert Welch for his time and attention to this effort and
hereby appropriates the total cash contributed in the amount of $7,459 for the purchase of gift
cards for Hurricane Katrina victims. Cards are to be distributed by Catholic Charities.
