HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolutions-2007-41Y CITY OF TIFFIN RESOLUTION NO. 2007- 41 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR A CITY COUNCIL AGENDA, INCLUDING PROPOSED RESOLUTIONS, ORDINANCES, AGREEMENTS, AND FINAL PLATS. WHEREAS the City Council members desire to be prepared for the regular monthly meetings so that they may act in an efficient and effective manner; AND WHEREAS, in order to act in such a manner, the City Council members must have sufficient time in which to review the items on the agenda for the regular monthly meetings; AND WHEREAS, the Council desires to establish a deadline date for the submission of matters for the agenda of each regularly scheduled monthly council meeting. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Tiffin, Iowa, that the City Council sets the Thursday immediately prior to the second Wednesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. as the deadline for submitting items for the agenda of the regularly scheduled city council meeting for that month. All preliminary and final plats and supporting documents and all PAD documents for approval must be submitted no later than two weeks before the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting at which final review and approval is sought. The City Clerk is instructed will not to place items on the agenda for final action after the deadline except upon explicit approval of the Council made at the time of the approval of the agenda at the meeting. ON THE 8thth day of August 2007, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson Petersen introduced A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR A CITY COUNCIL AGENDA, INCLUDING PROPOSED RESOLUTIONS, ORDINANCES, AGREEMENTS, AND FINAL PLATS, and made a motion for approval. Washington St., Iowa City, IA 52240 (319) 356-5253 Resolution No. 2007-42 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CLEAR CREEK - AMANA SCHOOL DISTRICT TO APPLY FOR SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOLS GRANT FUNDS TO BE USED IN THE CITY OF TIFFIN WHEREAS, at the request of the Clear Creek - Amana School District Johnson County Council of Governments has assisted in identifying possible Safe Routes to Schools grant projects in the City of Tiffin; and WHEREAS, the City of Tiffin has agreed to partner with the' Clear Creek - Amana School District in order to provide children safe routes to schools; and WHEREAS, the City of Tiffin recognizes and encourages the importance of healthy lifestyles for children and promotes walking and riding bicycles to school. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA, THAT: 1. The proposal that the Clear Creek - Amana School District apply for Safe Routes to Schools grant funds from the State of Iowa for sidewalk improvements in the City of Tiffin is hereby approved. 2. Said sidewalk improvements are intended to provide safe routes to school and to ,promote healthy and active lifestyles for children.
