APPROVING THE SYCOLIN ROAD WIDENING PHASE II
TOWN/VDOT ADMINISTRATIVE AGREEMENT AND
AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE THIS
AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, Resolution 2005-104 authorized a request for matching funds from the
Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Revenue Sharing Program; and
WHEREAS, the Town applied for $1,000,000 from the VDOT Revenue Sharing Program
to construct the ultimate design of the Sycolin Road Widening Project Phase II; and
WHEREAS, funds in the amount of only $744,920 from the Revenue Sharing Program
were approved by VDOT for this project; and
WHEREAS, additional funds in the amount of $255,080 to complete funding for this
project is available from the Town's share of the Loudoun County Gas Tax accumulated in Sycolin
Road Phase III; and
WHEREAS, construction of this phase is planned for spring 2006.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. The Sycolin Road Widening Phase II Town/VDOT Administrative
Agreement is hereby approved.
SECTION II. The Town Manager is authorized to execute this agreement.
