A RESOLUTION: PRESENTED January 10, 2006 2006-12 ADOPTED January 10, 2006 AUTHORIZING A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING FOR SPECIAL EXCEPTION APPLICATION TLSE-2006-0001 ENTERPRISE RENT-A- CAR VEHICLE RENTAL USE AT THE VIRGINIA VILLAGE SHOPPING CENTER, 33 FAIRFAX STREET, SE WHEREAS, it is the intent and desire of Council to be supportive of existing businesses in the Town of Leesburg; and WHEREAS, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, an existing business in the Town of Leesburg, has lost its lease at its current location at the Bellwood Commons Shopping Center; and WHEREAS, Enterprise Rent-A-Car has submitted an application for special exception approval (TLSE-2006-0001) to relocate its vehicle rental use in the Virginia Village Shopping Center at 33 Fairfax Street, SE and that application proposes no change to the existing building or new construction; and WHEREAS, the normal special exception review process would mn beyond the time by which Enterprise Rent-A-Car must vacate its Bellwood Commons Shopping Center location, Enterprise Rent-A-Car has requested a Joint Public Hearing with the Leesburg Town Council and the Leesburg Planning Commission to expedite the review of its special exception application. WHEREAS, the public necessity, convenience, general welfare and good zoning practice justify the authorization of a joint public hearing in this case. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that pursuant to Chapter 22, Title 15.2-2204 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended, a notice that a special exception application to locate a vehicle rental use at the Virginia Village Shopping Center, 33 Fairfax Street SE, will be considered jointly by the Leesburg Town Council and the RESOLUTION: -2- AUTHORIZING A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING FOR TLSE-2006-0001 ENTERPRISE RENT-A-CAR VEHICLE RENTAL USE AT VIRGINIA VILLAGE SHOPPING CENTER, 33 FAIRFAX STREET, SE Leesburg Planning Commission and shall be published in the Leesburg Today on February 10, 2006 and February 17, 2006 for a Joint Public Hearing to be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 in the Council Chambers of the Leesburg Town Hall at 25 West Market Street, Leesburg, Virginia, 20176.
