A RESOLUTION:
APPROVING A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION FOR THE
REIMBURSEMENT OF $47,945 FOR THE NEGOTIATION OF THE
VERIZON CABLE FRANCHISE AND THE ADELPHIA-COMCAST
FRANCHISE TRANSFER
WHEREAS, the Town has incurred legal expenses associated with the negotiation of the
Verizon franchise agreement and the transfer of the Adelphia franchise; and
WHEREAS, according to Section 5.1-9 of the Town Code of Leesburg VA, legal
expenses associated with negotiation and transfer of cable franchises are to be reimbursed to the
Town; and
WHEREAS, Verizon and Comcast have reimbursed the Town $47,945 for the franchise
negotiation and franchise transfer based on actual legal cost; and
WHEREAS, the reimbursements will cover all the legal costs associated with both
matters.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. The FY 2006 Budget is hereby amended and an appropriation is made in
the amount of $47,945 for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2005 and ending June 30, 2006.
SECTION II. The Town Manager's budget is amended in the amount of $47, 945.
