A RESOLUTION: ADOPTING THE LEESBURG URBAN FORESTRY MANAGEMENT
PLAN PREPARED BY DAVEY RESOURCE GROUP
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 95-0-2 established the Leesburg Tree Commission and
Section 2-97 of the Leesburg Town Code states their duties, one of which is to prepare a
Management Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Tree Commission began working with Davey Resource Group on the
Management Plan at their regularly scheduled commission meetings in January 2005. Work
continued through December 2005 with a special public stakeholder meeting held on
April 27, 2005; and
WHEREAS, Davey Resource Group made a presentation and distributed a final draft of
the Urban Forestry Management Plan at the Council work session on December 12,2005; and
WHEREAS, the Tree Commission and the Town's Urban Forester recommends adoption
of the Urban Forestry Management Plan.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED that the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia hereby
adopts the Urban Forestry Management Plan dated December 2005.
PASSED this 28th day of February 2006.
