HomeMy Public PortalAbout2006-02 - PARKING REGULATIONS DURING STREET SWEEPING OPERATIONSr ORDINANCE 2006 -- AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING • PARKING REGULATIONS DURING STREET SWEEPING OPERATIONS WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle performs scheduled street cleaning operations; and WHEREAS, the parking along certain routes need to be controlled to better facilitate these street cleaning procedures. NOW THEREFORE be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle that the City of Greencastle create and publish a restricted parking schedule for purposes of allowing more efficient street cleaning operations and that the following section be added to Title 8 of the City of Greencastle Code regarding traffic control regulations: SECTION 8 -37 Parking Prohibition for Street Sweeping (a) No vehicle shall be stopped, stood or parked on streets designated on the schedule of street sweeping at the times specified herein. (b) A vehicle that is stopped, stood or parked in violation of this section is subject to a parking violation assessment of not more than $50.00 in favor of the city. 'There is no limitation on the number of parking citations that may be issued for stoppin standing, or parking violations that continue in violation of this Section. (Ord. If state law concer ning the stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles is construed or determined by a court of competent jurisdiction to preempt or provision of this Chapter, the applicable state law shall apply.
