Meeting of Medina Planning Committee called to order by President,
Ken Fortin. Present were Fortin. Tesch, Schumacher, Gasper, Scherer,
and Carter, Eng.
Mr. Paul Altringer presented a sketch of his proposed trailer court
on the Pat Fortin property which is located east of Medina # 116 and
north of state highwasy # 55 and at present zoned C2, and as such
would have to come under special permits. ;sir. Altringer said
statistics show where the national average is 25 school children to
100 coaches and an average of 055.00 per week per family is spent
in the community. Average tax per coach is $100.00 per year, of
which 50-, goes to school, 30v to village, 10e each to county and
state. After Altringer presented his plan, he le€t. During the
discussion which followed Fortin said at the court at Mound there
are considerable police calls to tyke care of disturbances. Also,
J. F. Crahan said, due to people moving and not paying electric
bills, the R. E. A. has installed coined meters, M. Scherer
contacted former Mayor Sahley of Plymouth, who said the average
at the court in Plymouth is 2 children per coach. Also Stenglein
of St. Anthony said the manager of the St. Anthony court has been
very cooperative, but they find that better homes were not built
next to the court and have refused a permit for a second court.
All members realizing these courts have been in existence for many
years that many of the problems would be overcome and eliminated
by village codes.
