HomeMy Public PortalAbout2006_04_11_r070 The Town of Leesburg, Virginia PRESENTED April 11. 2006 RESOLUTION NO. 2006-70 ADOPTED April 11. 2006 A RESOLUTION: CONSIDERATION OF ESTABLISHING A BOARD OF ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW FOR THOSE AREAS SURROUNDING THE OLD AND HISTORIC DISTRICT WHEREAS, the Leesburg Town Council recognizes the need for architectural review on the areas surrounding the Old and Historic District; and WHEREAS, the Board of Architectural Review was created to focus on the aspects of the Old and Historic District; and WHEREAS, the docket of the Board of Architectural Review is very full and additional work will be difficult to process in a timely manner. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: SECTION I. That the Council hereby refers to the Planning Commission the issue of consideration and recommendations on whether the establishment of a Board of Architectural Review for the area surrounding the Old and Historic District, focusing on areas such as infill, redevelopment and Village at Leesburg, is desirable. SECTION II. In the event the Planning Commission determines that such a Board is desirable, to direct the Town Attorney to prepare an Ordinance to be heard by the Planning Commission and sent to Town Council with a recommendation.
