A RESOLUTION: INITIATING AMENDMENTS TO THE SUBDIVISION AND
LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS TO INCORPORATE
MANDATORY PROVISIONS OF ~ 15.2-2241 OF THE STATE
CODE, CONSIDER INCORPORATING SOME OPTIONAL
PROVISIONS OF ~ 15.2-2242 OF THE STATE CODE, AND
INCORPORATE APPROPRIATE PROVISIONS THAT
REFLECT THE PURPOSES AND INTENT OF THE 2005
TOWN PLAN
WHEREAS, it is the intent and desire of Council to include all mandatory
provisions of ~ 15.2-2241 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended, within the Town of
Leesburg Subdivision and Land Development Regulations; and
WHEREAS, it is the intent and desire of Council to consider including some
optional provisions pursuant to ~ 15.2-2242 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended,
within the Town of Leesburg Subdivision and Land Development Regulations; and
WHEREAS, it is the intent and desire of Council to incorporate appropriate
provisions within the Town of Leesburg Subdivision and Land Development Regulations
that reflect the purposes and intent of the 2005 Town Plan.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia
as follows:
SECTION I. Amendments to the Leesburg Subdivision and Land Development
Regulations for the purpose of(1) including all mandatory provisions of ~ 15.2-2241 of
the Code of Virginia, as amended, (2) consider including some optional provisions of ~
15.2-2242 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended, and (3) incorporate provisions that

reflect the purposes and intent of the 2005 Town Plan, are hereby initiated and referred to
the Planning Commission for recommendation.
SECTION II. The Planning Commission shall hold a public hearing to consider
these amendments to the Subdivision and Land Development Regulations and report its
recommendation to the Town Council pursuant to Chapter 22, Title 15.2-2204 of the
1950 Code of Virginia, as amended.
