HomeMy Public PortalAboutEXECUTIVE ORDER - COVID19 Closing April 15, 2020April 15, 2020 Re: Extension of Shutdown of City Hall, Community Rooms, Parks and Playgrounds for the City of Riverdale After discussions with public health officials and the Riverdale City Council, I have decided to extend the shutdown of the parks, playgrounds, and community room for the City of Riverdale. The shutdown of these City facilities/amenities will be in effect through May 15, 2020, and will be extended if, in my opinion, the health and well-being of the community could be adversely affected by the unintended spread of COVID-19 should groups of citizens gather at a public meeting spot. I have also instructed our staff to keep City Hall closed but to remain available to residents during regular business hours on a "by appointment" basis (for in -person meetings) and remotely via email or phone. It is our desire to see the City's parks and playgrounds full of people as soon as possible. But the City Council and I both agree that it's better for us to err on the side of caution and encourage social distancing to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
