A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A BUDGET INCREASE
FOR STAFF SEARCH AND SELECTION SERVICES BY $6,000
WHEREAS, The City of Riverdale, Iowa ("City") is a Municipal Corporation, organized and
operating under the laws of the State of Iowa, and;
WHEREAS, the City Council had previously approved the hiring of Consultant Pat
Callahan to assist with the hiring of full time staff for the City (ref. City of Riverdale
RESOLUTION 2020-25, attached), and;
WHEREAS, an estimate for the services requested came in above the pre -approved
budgeted amount, and;
WHEREAS, the Chair of the Council's Search Committee and the Mayor evaluated the
proposals to find ways to reduce the cost and bring the project within the pre -
approved limits and;
WHEREAS, the services were deemed to be "essential" to a successful search and it was
mutually agreed that the budget could not be substantially reduced.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERDALE,
IOWA.
The approved budget for the "HIRING OF PAT CALLAHAN TO ASSIST WITH THE HIRING OF
FULL TIME STAFF" project is hereby increased by $6,000 so the project can move
forward, and;
The Mayor, as acting administrator, may engage the consultant and communicate
critical deadlines and other issues to the Council so this project can be completed
within the desired timeframe.
