Agenda for the Planning Board meeting on June 6, 1985 at 7:30 P.M. at the Town
Hall:
1- Minutes from previous meeting.
2- Zoning Map Changes proposed to go to the Town Board of Commissioners June
10, 1985.
3- Proposed ordinance dealing with junk, debris, etc. for review and recommendation
as to whether it should be a separate ordinance or put into the Zoning Ordinance.
4- Report from committees: Historic District Commission Representative, Board
of Adjustment Representative, Orange County Planning Board Representative.
5- Violations report.
6- New subdivision expected to be proposed in the near future.
7= Conditional Use Applications.
8- Old Business.
PLANNING BOARD
Minutes of June 6, 1985 Meeting
Members: Myron Martin -Chairman, Nancy Goodwin, Evelyn Poole -Kober,
Bob Rose and Robert Murphy.
Others: Kathleen Leyden, Laura Hill and Kay Maltbie, Zoning Officer.
Martin welcomed Kathleen Leyden and Laura Hill, interim Zoning
Officers,who assume zoning work for the Town on June 10, 1985.
The minutes of May 2, 1985 were considered. Murphy made a motion
that the May 2 minutes be approved. Rose seconded the motion
which passed unanimously.
Rose made a motion to approve the May 16, 1985 minutes. Poole -
Kober seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
The proposed zoning map changes for the area petitioned for change
by Edna Ellis and he.ighbors is to be considered by the Town Board
on June 10, 1985. It was noted that there are two lots near the
Central Commercial district that are to.be changed to residential
with the new zoning map.
There was discussion concerning an ordinance dealing with junk.
An addendum is to be..prepared.for the Zoning Ordinance if the
ordinance is reworked for another public hearing.
Reports from committees: Maltbie reported.on the Historic
District Commission. Martin reported on the Board of Adjustment.
Violations: The Zoning Officer is to call the State Solid
Waste Section, Frank Holland, to check on the status of the
tires at Terrell Tire.
The houses on Highway 70 were removed after a letter was sent
to the owners stating that the Town Board had given instruction
to the Town Attorney to proceed with the enforcement of the
Unsafe Buildings Ordinance.
The Town Attorney said that he was going to contact Crawford
about the Mobile Home Park and that earlier appointments that
he had made had fallen through, but that he would start working
on this violation across from -the Skating Rink. Martin said
that action was needed on the case.
The Terrys' mobile home skirting at the corner of King and Nash
St. had been approved by the.Town Board for the Town Attorney
to proceed.with the enforcement of the Zoning Ordinance requiring
skirting. A notice had..gone out to both.Mark and Esther Terry.
Only a return notice from Esther had been mceived. The Zoning
Officer is to call the Post Office regarding the other letter
to see about a trace. Another letter may.have to be sent to
Mark Terry.
Conditional Use Applications expected: one for a duplex on
Latimer St. and changes to the application necessitating a
new application for the Hartley Oakdale Woods townhouses.
The meeting was adjourned.
