A RESOLUTION: AWARDING THE SYCOLIN ROAD WIDENING PHASE I PROJECT
CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT SERVICES CONTRACT TO
VOLKERT & ASSOCIATES, INC. OF ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA
WHEREAS, the Sycolin Road Widening Phase I project is a funded CIP; and
WHEREAS, in response to a public solicitation for Construction Management Services on
the Sycolin Road Widening Phase I project, the Town received proposals from the following firms:
. Alpha Corporation, Inc. ofDulles, Virginia
· Volkert & Associates, Inc. of Alexandria, Virginia
. McDonough Bolyard Peck of Fairfax, Virginia
. ATCS, PLC ofDulles, Virginia
. Froehling & Robertson, Inc. ofDulles, Virginia; and
WHEREAS, all proposals were evaluated by a selection committee in accordance with the
Town's Purchasing Policy and the requirements of the Request for Proposals; and
WHEREAS, Volkert & Associates., Inc. was rated first by the selection committee; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Capital Projects Management and the Chief Purchasing
Officer recommend awarding the Construction Management Services contract for Sycolin Road
Widening Phase I to Volkert & Associates.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the
Town Manager is authorized to execute a contract in a form approved by the Town Attorney for
Construction Management Services with Volkert & Associates, Inc. in the negotiated amount of
$655,284.84.
