HomeMy Public PortalAbout2006_06_13_r104 The Town of Leesburg, Virginia PRESENTED: June 13. 2006 RESOLUTION NO. 2006-104 ADOPTED: June 13.2006 A RESOLUTION: DENYING THE EXTENSION OF UTILITIES TO SERVE THE APPROXIMATELY 60 ACRE PROPERTY KNOWN AS KITTRlE PROPERTY WHEREAS, the Town recently received a formal request from J. C. Consulting, Inc. the contract owner of the referenced property, for extension of utilities to the property situated near Cochran Mill Road east of the corporate limits; and WHEREAS, the aforementioned parcel includes approximately sixty acres and will be developed as a high density housing consisting of approximately 190 homes; and WHEREAS, the property is located in the County-Town Joint Land Management Area designated for future utility service by the Town and is within the Lower Tuscarora Creek Sewer service area as established by Leesburg's 1987 Water and Sewer Master Plan; and WHEREAS, the property is not contiguous to Town boundaries and does not qualify for extension of service based on guidance from the 2005 Town Plan and it has not been the general practice of the Town to provide extension of service to non-contiguous property. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: SECTION I. Town Council hereby denies the request for Town utility services to serve the approximately 60 acre property owned by f c. Consulting, Inc., known as Kittrie Property.
