The newly proposed strategy would preclude the relocation of the parallel taxiway resulting in significant cost savings to the Town of Leesburg, and would include planning for additional airport related development on the south side of the airport; and WHEREAS, the Airport Commission and the Airport Director recommend the selection of this Airport Layout Plan alternative. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the newly proposed Airport Master Plan alternative, which does not require the relocation of the taxiway 140 ft. to the east, as proposed by Campbell & Paris Engineers, P.c., be selected as the preferred planning alternative for the Leesburg Executive Airport Master Plan Update. Because it does not relocate the taxiway, this proposed alternative will allow the continuing use of the condo hangars, the Town-owned hangars on the north ramp, the existing tie down areas, and will result in a cost savings of over $364,800 in rental revenue. This alternative also enables the Town to preclude the loss of 52% of the 265 currently based aircraft. PASSED this 2Z th day of June 2006.
