TECHNICAL SUB-COMMITTEE

1. Call to Order
Chair Larry Brandhorst called the meeting to order at 9:34 am.
2. Review and Approve minutes of the meeting held March 1, 2017. The committee approved
the minutes.
3. Old Business—Review list of proposed amendments
It was discussed that the committee had approved 24" minimum depth for frost protection.
Also, a lengthy discussion on Special Inspections was held. A recommendation was made to
delete Section 1704.
4. Start review of Chapters 19-35.
The chapters were reviewed and were recommended to be accepted without exceptions. The
appendix was also reviewed. None of the appendices were recommended for adoption.
5. New Business—next meeting assignment
The committee will review the proposed bill and also start a review of the City's Building
Regulation's processes.

None were made.
7. Next Meeting Date?"'April 5`h?
The next meeting date will be from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, April 5, 2017.

The meeting adjourned at 11:34 am.
Proposed Amendments to the 2015 International Building Code:
1. Section 305.2.3—Replace "five" with "ten"throughout this section.
2. Section 308.6.4—Replace "five" with "ten"throughout this section.
3. Section 402—Does this Section include "strip malls?"
4. Section 420.5— Review automatic sprinkler system for Group R occupancies.
5. Section 906.11- Sale of fire extinguishers: Fire extinguishers that do not carry an Underwriter's
Laboratory label and rating shall not be offered for sale or trade within the City.
6. Section 1011.4 — Measurement of walk line? Does this this include the entire width of the stair or
clear width?
7. Section 1015.2 — Guard should also be provided for site features where people still have a chance
of falling.
8. Chapter 13—discuss partial adoption of the Energy Code
