HomeMy Public PortalAbout2006_07_25_r136 The Town of Leesburg, Virginia PRESENTED: Julv 25, 2006 RESOLUTION NO. 2006-136 ADOPTED: Julv 25. 2006 A RESOLUTION: AMENDING RESOLUTION 2005-86 BY ADOPTING ADDITIONAL DESIGN RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE LOWENBACH SUBDIVISION WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on July 25, 2006 to review the proposed Lowenbach Subdivision capital improvement project; and WHEREAS, it is the Town Council's desire to override the current design standards for the Lowenbach Subdivision; and WHEREAS, the Edwards Ferry Road and Catoctin Circle Traffic Signal project is a funded capital project by proffers from Loudoun County Courts Project and Town funds; and WHEREAS, some residents petitioned Town Council to leave the existing four-way stop in place and not install the signal and turn lane; and WHEREAS, the need for the signal and turn lane will be more accurately evaluated after construction completion of the Lowenbach project and opening all the roads in Lowenbach to through traffic; and WHEREAS, construction completion of the Lowenbach capital project is planned for summer 2009; and THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Lees burg in Virginia as follows: SECTION I: The curb return radii at the intersection of Blue Ridge Avenue with Prince Street, Catoctin Circle, Queen Street, and Washington Street, and the intersection of Edwards Ferry Road with Queen Street shall be 12 feet. SECTION II: The left turn movement from southbound Queen Street onto eastbound Edwards Ferry Road is hereby prohibited. -2- A RESOLUTION: AMENDING RESOLUTION 2005-86 BY ADOPTING ADDITIONAL DESIGN RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE LOWENBACH SUBDIVISION SECTION III: The traffic signal and turn lane at the intersection of Edwards Ferry Road and Catoctin Circle shall be reevaluated after the Lowenbach Improvements project is complete.
