Home My Public Portal About042-1978 - Appropriation - Cumulative Capital Building FundAPPROPRIATION ORDINANCE NO. 42 - 1978 AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE FROM THE CUMULATIVE CAPITAL BUILDING FUND. WHEREAS, certain extraordinary emergencies have developed since the adoption of the existing annual budget so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money for the various functions of the City Government than was appropriated in the annual budget. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA: SECTION 1. That for the expenses of the City Government and its institutions for the year ending December 31, 1978, the following amount of money is hereby appropriated and set apart out of the fund named and for the purpose specified. Said sum being subject to the law governing the same. Such amount appropriated shall be held to include all expenditures to be made during the year unless expressly stipulated by law. SECTION 2. That for the said fiscal period there is hereby appropriated from the Cumulative Capital Building Fund the following specified amount to meet the extraordinary emergency hereby declared to exist: AMOUNT AMOUNT REQUESTED APPROPRIATED CUMULATIVE CAPITAL BUILDING FUND $18,000.00 $18,000.00 These funds are to be appropriated for the following: For the Fire Department to equip five (5) fire trucks with large diameter hose. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor and is subject to the laws of the State of Indiana governing emergency appropriations. EXCERPTS OF TIII: MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE, CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building of said. City June 19, 1978 , at the hour of 7:30 p.m. Councilman Austerman presided with the following members present: Messrs. Ahaus Carter Mills , Paust Welch Williams , Absent: Elstro , Merchanthouse The following business was had to -wit: (OTHER L'USINESS HAD) The Clerk presented proof of publication of Notice to Taxpayers printed in the Richmond Palladium Item, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana, on the dates of June 7, 1978 and June 14, 1978 Said notices stated that a public hearing would be held on the 19th day of June, 1978 , by the Common Council to consider additional appropria- tions as provided for in Ordinance No. 42 -1978 , within the City of Richmond, Indiana. The proof of publication and posting of notices were examined and found to be correct and in order. Councilman Mills moved the proof of publication and posting of notices be received and ordered filed, seconded by Councilman _ Paust , and on voice vote the motion was carried. The Clerk read on second reading Ordinance No. 42-197S Councilman Mills moved for engrossment of Ordinance No. 42-1978, seconded by Councilman Welch and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Councilman Mills moved to suspend the rules and read Ordinance No. 42-1978 on third and final reading by title only, seconded by Councilman Welch and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.
