HomeMy Public PortalAbout2006_08_08_r146 The Town of Leesburg, Virginia PRESENTED August 8. 2006 RESOLUTION NO. 2006-146 ADOPTED August 8. 2006 A RESOLUTION: APPROVING A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION FOR THE REIMBURSEMENT OF $15,000 FOR THE NEGOTIATION OF THE VERIZON CABLE FRANCHISE WHEREAS, the Town has incurred legal expenses associated with the negotiation of the Verizon franchise and according to Section 5.1-9 of the Town Code of is entitled to reimbursement of these expenses; and WHEREAS, Verizon has paid a settlement fee in the amount of$15,000 to cover remaining legal costs associated with the franchise negotiations; and WHEREAS, all related legal expenses were incurred in Fiscal Year 2006 and the settlement fee was paid in 2006; and WHEREAS, Town Finance staff has determined that these funds must be appropriated to the budget for FY 2006 instead of current FY 2007 in order to maintain accurate financial records. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: SECTION I. The FY 2006 Budget is hereby amended and an appropriation is made in the amount of$15,000 for the fiscal year beginning July 1,2005 and ending June 30, 2006. SECTION II.
