A RESOLUTION:
APPROVING TOWN SPONSORSHIP OF THE MEDICAL
AUTOMATION INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
WHEREAS, Loudoun County will host the annual Medical Automation International Conference at
Lansdowne Resort for the next five years, with the first conference occurring in November 2006; and
WHEREAS, this conference will provide the Town of Lees burg with a significant opportunity to
showcase the Town as a potential location for medical automation companies; and
WHEREAS, the Economic Development Commission recommends that the Town sponsor the
Medical Automation International Conference; and
WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds in the FY 2007 Town Manager's contingency fund and the
Economic Development Department budget for sponsorship.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Lees burg in Virginia to sponsor the
Medical Automation 2006 International Conference as follows:
SECTION I: The Town will sponsor the Gala Dinner at a cost of $8,000, to be funded from the FY
2007 Town Manager's contingency fund.
SECTION II: The Town will organize and sponsor a program for the spouses and companions of
conference attendees at a cost, not to exceed $3,000, to be funded from the FY 2007 Economic Development
Department budget.
FURTHER, RESOLVED that the Town intends to continue to sponsor the Medical Automation
International Conference so long as it continues to be held in Loudoun County, contingent upon future
budget considerations.
