Minutes from 6/ 17/08 Motion: AP-approve minutes as written. KJ seconded. 5 yes. 2. Zisson &Veara-discuss changes to bedroom definition This item was postponed. 3. East Cape Engineering-variance request for 18 Mayflower Lane Chris Wixon explained to the Board that the leaching area would be 260' from the pond. Motion: AP-grant variance with Environmentally Sensitive Area conditions applying. DB seconded. 5 yes. 4. J.M. O'Reilly-variance request for 376 Run Hill Road Keith Fernandez explained to the Board that he was asking fora 46' variance from the leaching area to the pond. Conservation Commission has already approved this project. Motion: AP-grant variance with Environmentally Sensitive Area conditions applying. DB seconded. 5 yes. 5. Karen & Richard Keevers-new owners of Old Manse Inn-food establishment permit Motion: DB-grant permit with Sherrie McCullough's recommendations. AP seconded. 5 yes. 6. Laurel School-food permit application Motion: DB-grant permit with Sherrie McCullough's recommendations. AP seconded. 5 yes. 7. Quail Acres-failure to test semi-public beach NI explained that this homeowners association is refusing to test their water. An email from the State bathing beach coordinator stated that we should post the beach closed until they start testing. NI did put the sign up. 8. Discuss letter from Zisson &Veara re: Lot 56 off Freeman's Way & 1515 Freeman's Way There was a brief discussion on this. 9. Request for an extension on an upgrade order at 224 Sheep Pond Drive W W W.'fOW~1.BRC?WS'I'EK.MA.US 7/8/08 BOH Minutes Page 2 The Board agreed to give the owner 6 more months, but they can not rent the house out or live in it for an extended period of time until it is upgraded. 10. Discuss schedule of BOH meetings The Board decided that they would have their September meetings on the 9Lh and 23r~~ of the month due to vacation time. 11. Discuss Health Director's Annual review Joanne Hughes will do the review. Bills to be paid: JR-pay bills. AP seconded. 5 yes. 1. VNA May expenses $1330.00 2. VNA June expenses $1260.00 3. Report on Effectiveness of Reactive Barriers for Reducing N-Loading to the Coastal Zone 8. Article from CCT- "Protect waterways while awaiting comprehensive wastewater treatment plans 9. Seating information from inspections (Board asked NI to send a letter to owners stating that they need to upgrade or get rid of seats if it is noted that they are over the approved #) 10. Request for reduction in sampling or inspection of I/A system at 127 Beach Plum Lane Add on's Dwight & Joanne Ritter asked to come before the Board to talk about the dumpster problem at Chillingsworth. Robert Rabin, owner of Chillingsworth faxed over a letter to the Board explaining all he has done to remedy the situation. NI explained that the assistant has gone out three times on regular inspections and noted that there was no smell or overflowing trash, and the dumpster has been closed. The Ritters feel that the dumpster should be moved to the other side of the restaurant (as was discussed at a previous BOH hearing). The Board asked that NI send a letter to the Rabin's reminding them that they are supposed to have the trash picked up as early in the morning as possible. AP did not agree with sending the letter, he stated that he felt that they had made an improvement over last year and was happy with the progress made. NI reminded AP and JH that they needed to be sworn in for the Committees they are on. NI handed out a construction report for Ocean Edge Pets Banned on Beaches regulation to be signed. NI talked about Ellis Landing beach test failure and how it would need to r~ r., U'.7• u~1 JIIU `30. to be tested weekly now. Meeting adjourned at 8:45PM
