HomeMy Public PortalAbout084-1978 - Providing Clothing Allowance for Police DepartmentORDINANCE NO. 84-1978 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CLOTHING ALLOWANCE FOR THE RICHMOND POLICE DEPARTMENT, INCLUDING ALL SWORN OFFICERS THEREOF. WHEREAS, The Board of Public Works and Safety has negotiated with representatives of the Richmond Police Bargaining Unit representing all members of the Richmond Police Department with the rank of Patrolmen, and in said negotiations have agreed to pay patrolmen a clothing allowance of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) per year, including all eligible sworn officers of said department; and WHEREAS, the clothing allowance pay now being paid to said eligible officers is in excess of the minimum amount fixed by law, being IC 19-1-10-1; and WHEREAS, by direction of the State Board of Accounts requiring and thereby becoming necessary for the Common Council to pass an ordinance affirming this allowance where more than the minimum amount is paid for clothing allowance; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that: Said Common Council affirms the payment of the clothing allowance as stipulated in the Agreement dated October 2, 1978, made by and between the Board of Public Works and Safety on behalf of the City of Richmond, Indiana, and the Richmond Police Bargaining Unit and any agreements now existing.
