RESOLUTION 2020-34
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HIRING OF A PART-TIME,
SUMMER ADMINISTRATIVE INTERN FOR THE CITY OF RIVERDALE, IOWA
WHEREAS, The City of Riverdale, Iowa ("City") is a Municipal Corporation, organized and
operating under the laws of the State of Iowa, and;
WHEREAS, upon review and consideration of the current workload for the volunteer,
part-time administrator, and;
WHEREAS, the goals and objectives set by the City Council include projects that require
extensive financial forecasting, research and document review for which the current,
volunteer, part-time administrator does not have enough hours to donate, and;
WHEREAS, the City of Riverdale has had experience with part-time, summer interns in
the past that were generally favorable and productive for both the intern and the City.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERDALE,
IOWA.
Section 1. Authorizes the Mayor, as part-time administrator, to use the current job
description for the City's "Administrative Intern" (ref. Resolution No. 2019-18) and to seek
out and hire a competent person for said position;
Section 2. The term of that employment shall not exceed 21 hours per week, nor be
for a period beginning before April 28, 2020 nor extending beyond August 31, 2020; and
Section 3. The position of Administrative Intern may be re -visited by the City Council
as funding is available or need is determined by the Council.
