Health and Human Services Committee
Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 7:00 PM
Present: George Pettengill, Jean Sears, Doris Franzago, Pat and Bill Mageean, Liz Jayes.
The meeting was called to order at 7 PM by chairman, George Pettengill.
Thank you notes from some agencies and a memo from Karen North Wells concerning the
Cape Cod Children's Place were shared with all.
Each of the following requests was discussed thoroughly and the following recommendations
will be made: Level funding of $2,500 for Aids Support Group of C.C.
Level funding of $6,425 for capeAbilities
Level funding of $5,020 for CC Child Development
Level funding of $500 for Consumer's Assistance Council
Level funding of $7,500 for Elder Services of CC
Level funding of $9,000 for Gosnold, Inc.
Level funding of $4,200 for Independence House, Inc
$6,160 for Interfaith Council Homeless ($658 increase)
$7,500 for Lower Cape Outreach Council ($200 increase)
Level funding of 5,000 for Nauset Together We Can
Level funding of $900 for Sight Loss Services
$4,300 for So. Coastal Counties ($100 increase)
The next meeting will be Wednesday, December 17~' at 7 PM. We will ask representatives
from Big Brothers/Sisters of C.C. and C.C. Children's Place to join us and answer our
questions.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 PM.
