HomeMy Public PortalAbout2006_11_28_r203 The Town of Leesburg, Virginia PRESENTED: November 28. 2006 RESOLUTION NO. 2006-203 ADOPTED: November 28.2006 A RESOLUTION: INITIATING AN AMENDMENT TO ZONING ORDINANCE ARTICLE 18 DEFINITION FOR TEMPORARY COMMUTER PARKING LOT WHEREAS, the Town Council is supportive of providing transit alternatives to the citizens of Leesburg; and WHEREAS, it is the desire and intent of Town Council to consider the possibility of temporary commuter parking facilities in the Town of Leesburg; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Ordinance permits temporary commuter parking lots only on a two (2) year non-renewable basis; and WHEREAS, this amendment will provide enhanced parking opportunities to the citizens of Leesburg who participate in park and ride programs; and WHEREAS, the public necessity, convenience, general welfare and good zoning practice require the proposed amendment; and THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: SECTION I. SECTION II. The Planning Commission shall hold a public hearing to consider this amendment to the Zoning Ordinance, and report its recommendations to the Town Council pursuant to Chapter 22, Title 15.2-2204 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended.
