ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING THE SALE OF CERTAIN
UNIMPROVED REAL ESTATE IN THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA.
WHEREAS, the Board of Parks and Recreation of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
acquired certain land by purchase as recorded in Deed Record No. 350, page
613, in the office of the Wayne County Recorder, Wayne County, Indiana; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Parks and Recreation deems it desirable to sell the
real estate described in Exhibit 1, made a part hereof, to Chrysler Corporation
to enable such purchaser to expand its facilities thereon and on adjoining
real estate now owned by the corporation; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Parks and Recreation and the City of Richmond has no
present or foreseeable use for said property and the expansion of the facilities
of Chrysler Corporation is in the best interest of the people of the City of
Richmond, Indiana; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Parks and Recreation has adopted a resolution approving
the sale and said resolution was presented to the City Clerk for the presentation
to the Common Council of the City of Richmond and was so presented; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana:
Section 1. It is hereby found advisable to sell the real estate described
in Exhibit 1 hereof.
Section 2. It is hereby found that the utilization of such real estate for
expanded new commercial facility and expanded industrial purposes will promote
employment in the City of Richmond and environs and thereby serve the public
purpose and will be of benefit to the health and welfare of the City of Richmond.
Section 3. The offer to purchase approved by the Board of Parks and Recreation
and the Board of Public Works and Safety is hereby approved and such offer shall
be incorporated herein by reference and shall be entered in the minutes of the
Common Council and kept on file by the City Clerk.
Section 4. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute the document
offered herein on behalf of the City of Richmond and any other documents which
may be necessary or desirable to complete the transaction.
Section S. The Mayor and City Clerk, acting upon the advice of the City Attorney,
are authorized to make any revisions in the documents herein offered which may
be deemed necessary or desirable to more fully accomplish the purposes of the
transaction and to execute such document or documents as revised without further
submission of such revised documents to the Common Council.
Section 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and signing by the Mayor.
PASSED and ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Wayne County,

WHEREAS, the area, referred to above, is not now used or in the foreseeable
future needed for park and recreation purposes; and,

RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SALE OF CERTAIN UNIMPROVED REAL ESTATE IN THE CITY
OF RICHMOND, INDIANA.
WHEREAS, the Board of Parks and Recreation of the City of Richmond acquired
certain land by purchase as recorded July 23, 1970, in Deed Record No. 350,
page 613, in the office of the Wayne County Recorder, Wayne County, Indiana;
and
WHEREAS, the Chrysler Corporation has presented to the Board of Parks and
Recreation an offer to purchase 8.707 acres of said Park land, said offer
attached and marked Exhibit 1 and made a part hereof; and
WHEREAS, The Board of Parks and Recreation deem it desirable to sell the real
estate as described in Exhibit 2, made a part hereof, to Chrysler Corporation
to enable such purchaser to expand its facility thereon; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Parks and Recreation sees no present or foreseeable
use of said property for park and recreational purpose and the expansion of
the facilities of Chrysler Corporation is in the best interest of the people
of the City of Richmond;
NOW THEREFORE be it resolved by the Board of Parks and Recreation of the City
of Richmond, Indiana:
1. That it is in the best interest of the people of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, that the unimproved real property herein before
set out be sold to the Chrysler Corporation according to the terms
of the "Contract to Purchase" above referred to.
2. That an ordinance be prepared authorizing such sale and that the
same be presented to the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
3. That a copy of this resolution be presented to the City Clerk for
presentation to the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
