A RESOLUTION:
A WARDING THE DESIGN AND ENGINEERING SERVICES CONTRACT FOR
BA TTLEFIELD PARKWAY FROM APPROXIMA TEL Y 1,400 FEET NORTH OF
FORT EVANS ROAD TO EDWARDS FERRY ROAD TO KIMLEY-HORN AND
ASSOCIATES, INC.
WHEREAS, Battlefield Parkway from approximately 1,400 feet north of Fort Evans Road to Edwards
Ferry Road is a funded capital project; and
WHEREAS, in response to a public solicitation to provide design and engineering services for this section
of Battlefield Parkway, the Town received 11 proposals on November 3,2006; and
WHEREAS, the received proposals were evaluated by an evaluation committee in accordance with the
Town's purchasing policy; and
WHEREAS, Kim ley-Horn & Associates, Inc. was rated first by the evaluation committee to provide the
design and engineering services for this project; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Capital Projects Management and the Chief Purchasing Officer
recommends awarding the engineering contract for this project to Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Lees burg in Virginia as follows:
The Town Manager is authorized to execute a contract, in a form approved by the Town Attorney, with
Kim ley-Horn and Associates, Inc. in the amount of $378,000 for providing the design and engineering services for
Battlefield Parkway from approximately 1,400 feet north of Fort Evans Road to Edwards Ferry Road.
