December 12. 2006 RESOLUTION NO. 2006-214 ADOPTED December 12. 2006 A RESOLUTION: ENDORSING THE APPLICATION AND AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE ANY AND ALL OF THE DOCUMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE APPLICATION FOR A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FOR SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS ON SOUTH STREET BETWEEN CHURCH AND HARRISON STREETS IN LEESBURG. WHEREAS, community development and pedestrian safety are important elements of Leesburg's Town Plan and Town Council vision; and WHEREAS, the Town Staff has identified sidewalk improvements in the Historic District that will improve pedestrian access; and WHEREAS, the Town Staff has recognized the need of low to moderate income families to have safe pedestrian access thought Historic Downtown Leesburg; and WHEREAS, the Town is eligible for a Federal Community Development Block Grant that could be used to fund sidewalk improvements on South Street between Church and Harrison Street in Historic Downtown Leesburg. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: SECTION I. The Town Council endorses this application for a Community Development Block Grant for sidewalk improvements on South Street between Church and Harrison Street in Historic Downtown Leesburg. SECTION II. The Town Manager is authorized to execute any and all of the documents associated with the grant. -2- A RESOLUTION: ENDORSING THE APPLICATION AND AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE ANY AND ALL OF THE DOCUMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE APPLICATION FOR A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FOR SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS ON SOUTH STREET BETWEEN CHURCH AND HARRISON STREETS IN LEESBURG.
