A RESOLUTION: CREATING A TASK FORCE TO INVESTIGATE AND MAKE
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR POLICY AND ACTION WITH REGARD
TO THE POSSIBLE RELOCATION OF THE LOUDOUN COUNTY
OFFICES
WHEREAS, Loudoun County has issued a Request for Partnership Proposal for a new
Government Administrative Center to be occupied within the next six years; and
WHEREAS, Loudoun County is currently the largest employer within the Town of
Leesburg; and
WHEREAS, the relocation of the County Offices, whether within Town but outside of
downtown or outside ofthe Town altogether, will have a significant impact on the economic
climate of the Town; and
WHEREAS, in order to make informed decisions about the potential relocation scenarios,
how the different scenarios will affect the Town, what policies the Town should set and what
actions, if any, the Town should take to retain the County Offices, the Council finds it necessary to
form a task force composed of members of the Town Council, the Economic Development
Commission and the Planning Commission.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia to create a
task force to investigate and make recommendations for policy and action with regard to the
possible relocation of the Loudoun County Offices.

FURTHER RESOLVED that the members of this task force will be Vice Mayor Susan
Home, Councilmember Kelly Burk, Councilmember Katie Hammier, two members of the
Economic Development Commission to be appointed at the January 17,2007 Economic
Development Commission meeting and two members of the Planning Commission to be
appointed at the January 18, 2007 Planning Commission meeting.
