A RESOLUTION: APPROVING AMENDMENTS TO THE FY 2007 GENERAL
FUND BUDGET, AND MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR
$34,631 AWARDED THROUGH A DEPARTMENT OF
HOMELAND SECURITY STATE HOMELAND SECURITY
PROGRAM GRANT
WHEREAS, the Department of Homeland Security under its Fiscal Year 2005 budget
has awarded a grant to the Commonwealth of Virginia through the Department of Emergency
Managernent;and
WHEREAS, Loudoun County and the towns within Loudoun County received a
share of that grant; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg has been awarded $34,631 as its share of the State
Homeland Security Program Grant; and
WHEREAS, the Leesburg Police Department has worked closely with federal, state
and Loudoun County officials to identify equipment needs necessary to improve the Town's
readiness.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION 1. The FY General Fund 2007 Budget is hereby amended and an
appropriation is made in the amount of $34,631 for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2006 and
ending June 30,2007, as follows to include the adjusted totals to the categories and accounts
of the funds listed below:

HOMELAND SECURITY STATE HOMELAND SECURITY
PROGRAM GRANT
a. From the DHS State Homeland Security Program Grant $34,631 is received and
appropriations of $34,631 are made to the Police Department FY 2007 budget for
the purchase of equipment necessary to improve the Town's readiness.
b. The equipment purchases submitted for and approved in the application are as
follows:
1. Passenger Van
2. Personal Protective Equipment
3. Response and Surveillance Equipment
