HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-14-2012 personnel reportCommittee on Personnel and Town Organization Meeting Minutes February 7, 2012 The Committee on Personnel and Town Organization met on Tuesday February 7, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the Council Office. Present were Councilors Susan Falkoff, Chair, Cecilia Lenk, Vice Chair, and Stephen Corbett, Secretary. Also present was Tom Tracy, the Town Auditor. The purpose of the meeting was to review the personnel evaluation tools to be used for the evaluations of the auditor and the council clerk. The committee reviewed the form that was last used for the auditor as well as several from other communities. A copy of Mr. Tracy's job description was distributed. It was noted that the Council's evaluation of the auditor is challenging because the majority of his work is performed independently of the Council's operations. The suggestion was made that we seek the manager's input as a component of the process. The committee also felt that establishing goals and reviewing progress towards them should be part of the process. The committee focused on the evaluation form from the Town of Wellesley and several suggestions were made on how we might modify it to best suit our purposes. Councilor Lenk volunteered to redraft the form to be finalized at the next meeting. The committee then discussed the Council Clerk's evaluation and reviewed a generic form that was obtained from a human resources website. A few minor modifications were suggested and this will also be redrafted for the next meeting. The next meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 5:30.
