HomeMy Public PortalAbout2007_02_20_r027 The Town of Leesburg, Virginia PRESENTED February 13.2007 RESOLUTION NO. 2007-27 ADOPTED February 20. 2007 A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING FOR SPECIAL EXCEPTION APPLICATION TLSE-2006-0008 UNION CEMETERY, INC. EXPANSION WHEREAS, Union Cemetery, Inc. has requested special exception approval to permit expansion of a cemetery at 30 Union Street NW; and WHEREAS, the proposed expansion is located in the R-l Single Family Residential Zoning District; and WHEREAS, in 1982, William F. Rust, Jr. deeded to the Union Cemetery Trustees a 3.99 acre tract for the future expansion of Union Cemetery Inc; and WHEREAS, the public necessity, convenience, general welfare and good zoning practice justify the authorization of a joint public hearing in this case. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: SECTION I. Pursuant to Chapter 22, Title 15.2-2204 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended, a notice that a special exception application to expand Union Cemetery, 30 Union Street NW, will be considered jointly by the Leesburg Town Council and the Leesburg Planning Commission and shall be published in the Leesburg Today on March 9,2007 and March 16, 2007 for a Joint Public Hearing to be held on Tuesday, March 27,2007 in the Council Chambers of the Leesburg Town Hall at 25 West Market Street, Leesburg, Virginia, 20176. - 2 - A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING FOR SPECIAL EXCEPTION APPLICATION TLSE-2006-0008 UNION CEMETERY, INC.
