Mayor John J. Allen, Jr.
City of McCall
P. O. Box 1065
McCall, Idaho 83638
Dear Mayor Allen,
I am writing to inform you of activities of the Park and Recreation
Advisory Committee.
As you know, the committee conducted two meetings recently. Our main
activities included project review and discussion of 1988 park main-
tenance and construction projects.
At this time I believe that the committee has completed the projects
that were assigned in the original mission statement, namely the
formulation of a City of McCall Park Master Plan. This plan has been
submitted to and approved by the McCall City Council.
At our committee meeting on March 8, the members agreed that our
original mission statement had been completed. The committee
supported the general idea of an advisory group assisting in the
area of park and beach planning, facility construction and mainten-
ance. Mr. Cooke and Mr. Schmidt have begun developing a mission
statement that gives such an advisory committee direction.
I encourage you to review the newly developed Park and Recreation
Advisory Committee Mission Statement. I would hope that in the near
future you adopt such a Mission Statement and select community members
to serve on the committee.
I would also suggest that the Advisory Committee be given an immediate
objective of assisting with the construction/development of the new
waterfront park site. This is a personal opinion that I have dis-
cussed at length with Mr. Cooke and Mr. Schmidt. This task should be
foremost for 1988-89. In recruiting members to serve on the committee
this task orientation should be stressed.
I would be happy to answer questions or assist you and the City
Council as the need arises.
Sincerely yours,
Max Williamson, Chairman
Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee
