Re: Agenda for the Meeting scheduled for July 1, 1986 at 7:30 pm at the
Town Hall.
Date: June 27, 1986
Item 1: A rezoning request from Theodore and Sharon Freeland for property
located west of the intersection of Corbin St. and Churton St. The Tax
Map reference is Tax Map 19, Block A, Lot 10. The proposal is to rezone
the 24,000 sq. ft. lot from Office -Institutional to General Commercial.
This request is scheduled to go to Public Hearing on July 21, 1986.
Item 2: Rezoning request from Warren Gates for property located on the
north side of Oakdale Dr., west of Flint Ridge subdivision. Tax Map
reference is Tax Map 44, Block A, Lots 1, 2 and 3. Request is to rezone
19.28 acres from R-20 to R-10. This request is scheduled to go to
Public Hearing on July 21, 1986.

Members present: Evelyn Poole -Kober, Chairman; Nancy Goodwin, Bob Rose,
Margaret Moore, Calvin Ashley, Barbara Page and Dr. Robert Murphy.
Others: Warren Gates, Randy Moore, Hervie McIver, Wendy Olson, and Mrs.
Claytor.
The meeting was called to order at 7:35 p.m. by the Chairman.
The Chairman asked if there were any additions to the agenda.
Committee Reports was added as Item 3.
A special meeting set up with the Hillsborough Advisory Township Committee
was added as Item 4.
Item 2: Rezoning request from Warren Gates for property located on the
north side of Oakdale Dr., west of Flint Ridge subdivision. Tax Map
reference is Tax Map 44, Block A, Lots 1, 2 and 3. Request is to rezone
19.28 acres from R-20 to R-10. This request is scheduled to go to
Public Hearing on July 21, 1986.
Warren Gates and Randy Moore were present and told the Board they are proposing
to build approximately 63 single family dwellings. They will consist of a
mixture of 1 and 2 story dwellings to be 960 sq. ft. and up. They presented
to the Board their proposed lot layout. .There will be one entrance to the
subdivision by Oakdale Dr. and a cul-de-sac will be included. Lots will be
85' wide with 11,000 sq. ft. per lot.
Gates said that there is a small stream on the edge of the property. There
are currently 2 mobile homes and 4 houses on..the property which will be
removed.
A letter was included from the Town saying that water and sewer could probably
be easily provided to serve this property. Gates and Moore stated that they
would extend the lines for water and sewer per the Town Engineer's recommendations.
Page made a motion that this request go to public hearing, Ashley seconded it.
The motion was carried.

The members stated that this property was rezoned from R-20 to Office -Institutional
in 1984. It was stated that this situation is similar to John Wright's request
since Corbin Street acts as a buffer between Residential and General Commercial.
Rose made a motion that this request be sent to public hearing, Page seconded it.
The motion was carried.
